Though not officially declared as a "war against pornography" by the state, there is one going on, but not by this name. The bad guys' tactic involves using opposition to disgusting behaviour (in the minds of some) as an excuse to get control of communications media (in this case, usually the internet). It usually involves the "for the children ploy" to position the parties to the argument such that you end up being some kind of monster if you are for freedom (of speech or press - in this new media form), because you're positioned to be FOR kiddie porn if you aren't against censorship of the internet. Watch out! They're going to keep trying to use this one until they somehow get control of the internet - be prepared with alternate plans:
